Authorities in Deltona, Florida, have arrested and charged four people in the killings of six people in a rental home, Volusia County's sheriff said Sunday.

Sheriff Ben Johnson said the murder was organized by a man who was angry because he believed his Xbox video game system and some clothes had been stolen.

Alleged ringleader Troy Victorino, 27, has not confessed, but three teenagers Johnson said Victorino recruited to assist him have, Johnson said. The three were identified as Robert Cannon, 18; Jerone Hunter, 18; and Michael Salas, 18.

Is this news for this site because the theft of an X-Box (among other items) was mentioned as motivation? When someone posts about a murder I expect RPGs to be implicated as an influence or, at the least, a bloody sword to be involved. You're slippin', Krug.

*Edit* ...and my condolences to the families of those who were bludgeoned for stealing stuff and those who were possibly just bludgeoned for being in the vicinity...

I don't see any reaction from Microsoft at all over this. They're probably letting it go so they get the advertisement out of it. Greedy bastards.

As for the killers, I say we dump them in the middle of the pacific and throw some chum into the water. Send a bit of a message that if you're dumb enough to kill someone over that sort of thing, you deserve to die horribly.

I agree MS is a greedybastard company, but I seriously don't think their failure to comment on a crime not related specifically to XBox as a motive constitutes a corporate failing :)

Anyway, it doesn't sound like the murder was about an XBox, but rather revenge for a theft. Which isn't to say that's any less evil. Just... why would MS care? It wasn't about them.

I would usually cut a quote down but this needs to be read twice....

ditto... Couldn't agree more.

Xbox wasn’t the motive here, revenge was.
