Wow...I didn't actually know this weekend was GenCon. Strange coincidence...
I'm going to Corning, NY to rendezvous with my gaming buddies from college (been gaming with them for 14 years, now just on special occasions). It's a Bachelor weekend, since the host's girlfriend is overseas. There'll be 6 of us.
I'm running Vampire: Dark Ages. Last time we played, it was 1203 in Treviso (a little Italian town north of Venice). The PCs basically put themselves in a position to run the place. For this scenario, it's 27 years later and the PCs are pretty much in control. But a Roman Ventrue named Regnius is sleeping in the catacombs, and he has begun to awake...he reaches out with his dreams to the Kindred of Treviso (known to Regnius as the Roman outpost of Tarvisium). The armies of Frederick II are on the way, Kindred are lining up to support the Emperor or the Pope, and war is looming.
That's the situation, and we'll see where they go with it. We play Vampire with intrigue, back-stabbing, manipulation, and lots of note-passing...and that's just between the players! Rather than set up any plot at all, I just set up a relationship map and let them have at it.
Guys' weekend! Rock on!
