Ok according to the Shifter PrC you are able to take just about any form by tenth level. It also mentions that you gain that forms physical stats, phsycial abilities ( fly with wings for example) AND its Extraordinary abilities. Well are DR or SR Extraordinary abilities?? i must be an idiot as i cannot find anything about them being any sort of ability..perhaps i am overlooking ot or i am very stupid.
Anyone got an answer?
Thanks

Damage reduction is a supernatural ability.
Spell resistance is an exceptional ability.

See the dungeon master guide special ability descriptions, pages 73 and 81.

Mnnn Olson tw... I mean

Anyone know about the laernean Hydra invulnerability to almost everything but gettng its head chopped off and then either roasted in fire or acid.(is it ex or su its blank in the MM description)

Could you be a laernean pyro hydra be immune to fire, chop off all your heads so you now have 24 heads for the amazing 24+AoO attacks a round even when you move.

If greater magic fang is cast on a head before it splits do both the new heads have greater magic weapon, none of them, one of them? (amulet in sword and fist that gives the plus here+the use in alternate forms ability =really cool here)

The lernean hydra's abilities are natural, and are granted by polymorph other, greater wildshape, and similar spells and abilities. (Abilites that are not supernatural, exceptional, and spell-like are natural abilities.)

Note, however, that "a Lernean hydra can never have more than twice it's original number of heads at any one time, and any extra heads it gains beyond its original number wither and die within a day." This mean that most characters, being originally one-headed, are limited to two heads in Lernean hydra form.

Greater magic weapon applies to one natural weapon. If the head (bite) with GMW cast upon it is cut off, the spell no longer functions for the hydra. (The natural weapon it was cast on was removed.)

As a shifter though assuming you are the right level you could become a 12 headed pryo/lernean hydra. If you had the amulet of mighty fists?(sword and fist grants magic fang to all natural attacks, modified so it works in a transformed form) all 24 of those heads would be magical attacks. As a lernaen/pyro hydra you are immune to fire so only acid would work to turn a head into a permanent stump. So unless fighting a foe with lots of acid you've effectively become physically indestructable, and you get a decent set of attacks on top of that, and a decent will and fort save to avoid those nasty non-physical defeats. It's just nasty for a shifter.

No templates, it specifically mentions that in the greater wildshape description (I can't quote it, but I definitely remember wondering about that and seeing it in the book).

Templates are something you have to talk to your DM about it. Nowhere in the description of Greater Wildshape or anywhere else in the book that I can see says anything about templates. My dm and I came to the agreement, that'd if I'd met it, or encountered it that I could shift into it.

Unfortunately, I never did meet that half-gold dragon/half-celestial troll.
