So I guess that your longsword +2 would become a large sized longsword +2... 2d6 damage from memory instead of 1d8. Ouch. With a strength of 36 behind it... OUCH!

I'm beginning to feel sorry for the monsters... :D

Yeah :p

So there are rules buried somewhere on upsizing (or downsizing for that matter) weapons?

One other thing, I noticed that the 'fey' creature type isn't ever listed. Does that mean shifters can't take on a fey form ever? are there any other creature types missing?

No fey, no shapeshifters.

For your firbolg, try a scimitar (as it won't violate druid oaths). The improved critical range is quite nifty, although you only get 1d8+14 damage instead of 2d6+14.

for a 14 page discussion on the shifter and it's many, many confusing rules go here

It certainly helped me when i was trying to decide if i wanted to play a shifter :)

Maybe it was an oversight.
Could someone check if any Shapeshifter (or fey) gains an Extraordinary Shifting Ability? If yes, than they might have feared a loophole.

But the loophole is, in a limited way, there - look at the Mimic (an Abberation, if memory serves well), if you shift into this form, you can use its extra-ordinary ability to shift into any kind of object, within some (maybe severe) size limitations, and won`t have to pay any of your daily wildshapes for it.
(Okay, it`s not really "powerful", but it might be of some limited use...)
