You're right. Overall, it seems Strength Paladins sorta get hosed, period.

Strength Paladins are strongly encouraged to multi-class into Fighter or Cleric.

It's funny, because I was trying to stat up a Cha paladin and I ended up thinking 'goodness me, the Cha paladin is pretty hosed... all his abilities do a small number of fixed dice damage, while the Str paladin is getting multiple weapon damage

And CHA paladins are strongly encouraged to use sword & board, so their weapon die isn't too important to them.

Most definitively. I ran a STR pal as a DM NPC with an IQ of a stump and no CHA so it wouldn't outshine the PCs in strategy or interaction. Whoops some levels have no STR powers.

She died off at 3rd anyway
