D&D 5E Should Fighters get an Ability Score Improvement at 10th level?

Is this an error or is the ASI at 10th level deliberately missing? Because otherwise Fighters get an ASI every 2 levels from 4th to 16th, which would match the 3E system of a feat every other level.

Class balance issue

I'm fairly certain that the game designers chose not to give Fighters an ASI at 10th level during play-testing in order to keep them in relative power balance with the other classes; I could be mistaken.

As with any roll-out, we will likely see errata coming out on a number of issues (one that comes to mind is the Quick Build for the Warlock which suggests a spell that is not included on the Warlock spell list).

This may be an issue that will be addressed and adjusted sometime in the not-too-distant future.
