I have a really, really wierd staff who's powers I havent managed to unlock most of yet. And I'm lawful good. I'm not familiar with paladin, and I'm not sure I want to sacrifice the potential for higher level wizard capabilities.

I might just do it anyway. As a side note, I'm about as lawful good as one can be, I could go around town poisoning children and i MIGHT be lawful neutral after 100 died. My character was a mind flayer, lawful evil. He died to save another party member, one who'd accually been very hostile to him. Came back as an elf thanks to a wierd magical effect in Undermountain. Illilsene would NOT be pleased (he died lawful good mind flayer).
