The_Gneech rocks. This looks like it has just the right feel for my retro-game, is in the right level range, and BONUS! -- available as a pdf.

Well thanks! Psychic Warrior also rocks -- Rana Mor is another great choice. :)

I'm gonna modify it so that the human cultists from Rana Mor are actually awakened ape cultists. This will then lead into a modified jungle version of Temple of Demogorgon (also from Dungeon).

Ack! I wanna play! I've got my Conan-clone all ready...

Can you imagine a 2-headed awakened dire baboon with some kind of half-farspawn template (giving him tentacles)? That guy probably thinks he IS Demogorgon! :D

Well that would certainly be MY first guess!

What issue is Temple of Demogorgon from?

And *yoink!* That is a fantastic idea!

I'm still waiting for them to put Dungeon on CD. I'm just not sure I want hundreds of pounds of magazines to deal with.

I, probably like Diaglo, collected mine over the course of the last 15 years. I have bought a few back isues and there are notable gaps (I haven't a single issue from the 60 to 72 for example) The mags take up only one shelf of my 2 RPG book bookcases. The sheer amount of ideas for stories, NPCs, plot hooks etc makes me shiver.

I almost forgot I also modified Ancient Blood by Grant and David Boucher from issue #20 (it's another ruins exploration module set in a frozen landscape as the party investigates a ancient Frost Giant's lair - doesn't really work if you worry abotu stuff like climate but I just told the ranger that it was unnaturally cold in the mountains they ventured into :) The players uspplied all the explanation needed - "Whoa! Powerful hoojoo around here!" ). An old issue but excellent atmosphere and descriptions.
