No offense, but it may well be intentional that there's no "single-choice poll" option. ;)

Personally, I think this would be an actively bad idea. WOTC would be wasting time packaging material we already have, and they'd be misleading everyone by suggesting that this material is sufficient for any kind of widespread playtesting. Intrepid ENWorlders scrapping together materials for their own makeshift playtests are one thing; WOTC actually publishing that same material as a "preview" would be bad news.

I wouldn't want them to make a lot of noise about it, but I'll gladly take anything I can get. Just loading the delves as pdfs to their site would be a huge coup.

I'm not sure this is what you're wanting, but I wouldn't mind seeing an official Basic D&D incorporating the D20 system and 4E's understanding of "The Math." It's probably just nostalgia, but some of my favorite D&D memories involve middle school and The Rules Cyclopedia, and I would love something that recaptures that while having the much better task resolution of 3E/4E. Basically, I want an in-house Basic Fantasy that doesn't preserve sacred cows just because that's what they are.

I'd have to agree with you. Besides, I can wait a few months to give it a spin.

I legitimately don't want them to do this. What they would be releasing would be a tactical mini's game with pared-down rules... I'd much rather judge the game on its entirety. So yes, if it's alright with you, I have voted no.
