The vast majority of the time Silence is cast on a small stone at the opponant's feet. As long as said stone weights less than 5lbs, then it can subsequently be chucked by mage hand.

How about a diving helm?
Ok, here is a puzzle for you. Cast Silence on a tanglefoot bag, then throw it at the 17th level caster. Mage Hand can't deal with that and the caster will have a hard time casting spells. Thankfully my players haven't tripped to some of these tricks.pallandrome said:Actually, NONE of my high level casters have ever been even SLIGHTLY discommoded by Silence. I usually use a silenced Mage Hand to launch the object of the silence back at the initial caster. A level 1 spell counters a level 2 spell, and Hilarity Ensues. And before you ask, yes, all of my high level casters have Detect Magic made perminant on them, in case the object of the spell is not readily apparent. If you don't care to spend that much time, just pick up the object in question and put it into your backpack. It is an emination, after all.
