Silly Logistical Question

So, I know I am playing a game set in a fantasy world, but I still gotta wonder

Spells like snake staff, which have bizzare material requirements, how do you carry that stuff around?

For those who don't know, snake staff transforms pieces of wood into snakes

to get a venomous or advanced venomous snake, you need a stick or piece of fire wood
a constrictor or advanced constrictor is a staff or tree branch (starting to see the problem?)
an advanced giant venomous needs a log or pile of debris
an advanced giant constrictor needs a fallen tree or a large pile of debris

so my question, how does a fallen tree fit in your spell component pouch?
if it doesn't, how are you gonna do this spell? drag a fallen tree along behind you? When you get this spell, you already have CL 9 enough to make an advanced giant venomous snake and an advanced giant constrictor snake

so I am curious if anyone has any idea how to make sure you have the wood needed for this spell because it is a nice spell and I want to take full advantage of it, but in an underground adventure, fallen trees will be a bit of a rarity

(also, does the wood change back at the end of the duration and is it usable for another casting?)

usually this kind of effect is from what is around you such as what is in a thick forest.

but now these things are not found in a component pouch.

In this case I don't see the piece of wood as a component, but more like the target of the spell. So definitely a better spell for the woods or forest or perhaps a village with firewood piles. I could see someone carrying a stick possibly and certainly a staff, but not a fallen tree.

Since the piece of wood seems to be the target of the spell, not a component, I could see the snake turning back into the original piece of wood.
