Silly prestige classes.

First Post
Well, since we've got a silly monsters thread going, I decided to start up a silly prestige classes thread. This isn't a thread for which PrCs are the most overpowered/underpowered, but rather prestige classes that are just plain silly in concept.

My first vote goes for Master of Chains from Sword & Fist. When I saw it for the first time, I immediately thought "Somebody's been watching Hellraiser." ;)

My second vote goes for the Seeker of the Misty Isle prestige class from Complete Divine. Exiled elves looking for an isle hidden by Gruumsh eons ago? Riiight. To me, it seems like WotC threw together this PrC simply to fulfill the "at least one elf-related prestige class or subrace" quota that seems to apply to all their suppliments.

I think it was more to give the option to people who wanted to play a very Tolkien-esqsue setting.

Candle Caster

Candle Caster from Tomb and Blood.

My dislike (not really hate) for this class is imfamous in my group. The last Player's Guide I wrote from my group said, "The Norse kill all Candle Casters on sight." We had to put a ban on Candle Caster jokes untill a certian time, or the session just goes south.

It's not that bad; style over power. Holding spells in candles is a pretty good image to begin a character with, especially in a low magic campaign.

Eh, well, silly is really a matter of taste. The Candle Caster is just too new agey for my tastes. I can live with style over power, just not that style.

I'm now going to go back to thinking of a punchline to "How many Candle Casters does it take to change a light bulb?" ;)

I usually dislike all prestige classes built around the theme of revenge, probably because they make me think... well, what are you going to do after you have avenged whatever? :p
