Silly prestige classes.

Add me to the list of those defending the Oozemaster! In 2e, I always wanted to start an emnity between some PCs and a group of specialty priests of Juiblex. How could I not grin when I saw the Oozemaster, then??

There's a mounted PrC in the Warcraft RPG that gives you "horse whispering" as an ability. So, by bonding with your mount and being really skilled at riding it, you can control other mounts with your voice? This isn't Dune!

(Of course, they don't call it horse whispering, but I do.)

The Oozemaster (Masters of the Wild, I think). What were they thinking? Dear God, what were they *thinking*?

AFAIK they get the mindless attribute don't they.....?

I don't know any I think of as silly though...

The DM of one campaign I play in did something interesting with Candle Caster. We can use the mechanic but fir it to just about any item. So you could store spells in gems, or berries, faux-wands, or whatever was your character's theme. Still haven't seen anyone play one, but it takes it off the "silly" list (and maybe just moves it to the "underpowered" list).

Cheers,

Now now, I know most early Warcraft d20 products (anything before Magic and Mayhem) make prestige classes laughably simple to qualify for, and some of the abilities seem far off from the game (For example their take on the Blademaster Prestige Class.. use the one in Dragon #299 kids!). But I still like the themes behind many of those prestige classes... now Weapon Master... that was just horrible.

Oh btw am I alone in thinking the Eldrich Knight is the most boring prestige class in existence?!?!

I usually dislike all prestige classes built around the theme of revenge, probably because they make me think... well, what are you going to do after you have avenged whatever? :p
"Have you considered piracy?" ;)

That PrC only bothers me when the combo of high BAB and True Strike comes up. I've seen lots of worse ones (looks at Entropomancer and Frenzied Berserker).
