Simply AMAZING!

A lot of you have mentioned the massive loot and normally I would concur. But the PCs circumstances prevent the use of any of the items except the Deck. The other relics are being used to fuel a storyline. As for value, they have none. Besides, what character wants the attention that a Staff of the Magi brings him? I myself normally DM, as I said, and I am VERY stringent.... 4th level characters normally have a single +1 weapon and one minor item in my games. I am actually too stingy. Playing a monty-haul can be a nice change of pace, especially after innumerable character deaths because I am a merciless and cold DM.... :]

Too late, you just jinxed yourself.

The most hated odds for me? 1:400 and 1:8000.

Unless I'm mistaken, that's the odds of rolling the same number twice/thrice on a d20.

No, those are the odds of rolling a particular number twice/thrice. The odds of rolling any number twice in a row is only 1 in 20 on each roll. The number of previous rolls resulting in that number has no bearing on subsequent rolls. so any to rolls will have a 5% chance of being doubles, and a 0.25% chance of being a triple. The odds of rolling double 20s on the other hand are indeed 1:400.

Much like the question "If I flip a coin 25 times and get heads each time, what are the odds that I will get heads the next time that I flip it?" The answer of course is 50%.

Though if you got heads 25 times in a row, you could suspect that there is an imbalance in the coin that makes heads more likely.

Or that your name is Rosencrantz or Guildenstern :)
