Sinbad Movie

IMHO, D&D is already "over the top" and "cinematic" enough, provided the player characters are high enough in levels. (I estimate Sinbad in this movie is, oh, a dual-scimitar-wielding rogue/fighter 7th/3rd, with at least a Dex 18 and maximum skill points in Tumble, Jump, Balance, Climb, etc.)

Actually, a lot of his moves made me think of my lvl 9 Acrobat. I don't dual wield, but I've got obscene Tumble, Jump, etc.

One scene we had last week involved me under the influence of a Freedom of Movement spell, under water, with Boots of Striding and Springing and a Ring of Climbing. I was ambushed by something that cast Deeper Darkness, so I boogied. After a brief run, I leapt out of the water and grabbed hold of the cavern wall a good ways out of the water, and then kept on moving.

I saw it this afternoon and I really enjoyed it. Very good action and storyline, plus some of the best mixing of computer-generated and traditional animation I've ever seen. I'll definately be getting it when it comes out on DVD.

I didn't mind the move. I didn't think it was worth the box office price of $8 where I saw it, but it wasn't bad. I'll probably buy it at some point to let my daughter watch it.
