"Got a little something here." he says to Phoenix. "and neat trick healing your wounds."
"Good job searching it, I just about forgot." She says to Rowan. "As for the healing, it's not a trick. Just something that happens. For awhile at least. That shot just about drained me of the energy to heal any more that way." Phoenix confesses before noticing that Lookspring has stopped moving and drawn a couple arrows. With the twang of his bowstring, she leaps into action moving quickly past the Katara and taking up a spot 10' in front of him again with her mindblade brandished and ready...

OOC: Just a note to say I edited my first post in the thread to add a 'campaign notes' section, which includes the treasure we accrue. I'll try to keep track there. If you'd prefer to track it yourself, BibB, I'll drop that. But I've seen games before where no on really tracks the treasure and then at the end, various people have to scramble to figure it out, so I thought I'd try to be proactive.

ooc: Good idea and thanks for the help. I usually end up with notes all over for treasure and have to combine it all later. This adventure has the possibility to bring in quite a hoard.

back to the action....

The brute shrieks a bit and jumps as Looksprings fires his bow and both arrows find their way into his arm.

The beast hurls a large rock at Lookspring which bounces and rolls a ways stopping behind the group.

OOC: Starting from 10' in front of Lookspring...

Phoenix moves forward until she can see the creature in her light. Once she has a target, she cocks her arm back and throws her mindblade down the passage at the creature. She needs more practice with throwing it seems, because her shot misses completely. Her mindblade embeds itself in the wall near the creature, before fading away to nothing and leaving only a hole behind. "Frak!" she curses her luck.

Rowan could reach the creature this round with a charge but would be between the [sblock= Brute... know. Dungeoneering DC 12] Ogre. Thought it makes sense to give a chance to have heard of these somewhat common monsters.[/sblock] and his friends.

Round 2....The Brute rolled a 1 for initiative :(

OOC: Rowan init: 11, K-dungeoneering 12.

IC: Rowan, with his newfound discretion, sets himself up between the ogre and his friends. He prepares to slash it with his guisarme if it charges. Otherwise, he assumes his friends will pick it apart with missile weapons.

OOC: Ready action to attack if it comes w/in 10 feet of his position in the fore. He'll stand 5 feet in front of Phoenix, if possible. He'll focus on defense, transfering 5 BAB into ACw/ his combat expertise. This gives him AC 23, attack +4 2d4+4. Rolls attack 16 dmg 8

Lookspring flinches instinctively as the boulder hurtles at him. Luckily his height puts him below the line of travel of the weapon. Another reason I'm glad I wasn't born a longshanks. A flash of light behind him causes him to look back just in time as Phoenix's wildly thrown mindblade spins his way. Ducking out of the way of its passage, he shoots a glare over his shoulder before reaching for another pair of arrows. I don't know what's a bigger danger, the monster or my companions!

The stupid Ogre looks on as Rowan takes up a defensive position and Lookspring burries 2 more arrows in the creature obviously hurting it. Phoenix lets fly with another mindblade that opens a large wound in the creatures throat. It didnt even realize it had died as it slumped to the ground.

"THAT is the way we do it!" Exclaims Phoenix with pride. "Good shooting 'Spring! Sorry we didn't leave any for you Rowan. You gonna check that one to see if it's got any goodies too?" she asks before focusing for a moment to re-energize her blade with psychic energy.

After they finish searching the body, she asks the others "So, do we wanna continue like we were doing with Lookspring scouting up front? Seemed to work pretty well there." she observes.
