Sinister Spire(con't RBD)(Orsal Judging)

Rowan is angry at missing, but wary. It is still early in the day, and they face the unknown, with a difficult retreat if they get in trouble. He decides to fight defensively, well, mostly defensively. He'll try to draw the attack away from Phoenix. "Oh, you're as clumsy as you are ugly!" he shouts at the giant.

OOC: Use Combat expertise this time to increase Rowan's AC. Use all 5 BAB to do so, what the heck. This makes his AC 23, and reduces his attack roll to +4 2d4+4. Rolls: 1+4=5 miss. Seriously. Has anyone rolled over a 9 on a D20 on Invisible castle lately?

Phoenix spends a moment (move action) to recharge her mindblade with psychic energy. Swinging again though, the monster proves surprisingly quick and easily dodges her strike. "Frak!" she growls to herself in frustration as her eyes begin to show hints of flame in the corners.

Mindblade attack w/psychic strike (1d20+8=9, 1d6+4+1d8=14)
OOC: You aren't alone with the bad luck Manzanita. Just gotta hope BigB has as much trouble with his rolls or we're gonna get splatted.

Lookspring shakes his head free of the bits of dirt and stone. He winces, feeling a welt starting to form from one of the larger rocks. "You'll pay for that!" he shouts as he looses another pair of arrows at the creature.

OOC
[SBLOCK]
I'm blocked out of IC right now (at a job site that blocks it). 2 attacks at +7 for 1d6+2 damage per arrow if you want to roll it for me.
[/SBLOCK]

Lookspring shakes out dirt as he draws 2 arrows and fires again both striking the brute in the chest 1d20+7;1d6+2 → [15,7] = (22) 1d20+7;1d6+2 → [2,2] = (4) 1d20+7;1d6+2 → [10,7] = (17) 1d20+7;1d6+2 → [6,2] = (8)

Phoenix and Rowan miss

The Brute whimpers a bit from the arrows protruding from his chest and swings his massive club once again and manages to connect a painful blow to Rowan 1d20+8=26, 2d8+7=12

ooc: now on to round 3. Hopefully now that some damage has been delivered IC will be nicer to you :]

Rowan winces at the damage, but he's had worse. Much worse. He's glad the creature has decided to attack him over Phoenix. "You can do better than that!" he shouts, as he continues to fight defensively.

OOC: Rowan: HPs 41/53. AC 23 attack +4 2d4+4to hit 21 dmg 11. That's more like it!

The combination of blows and arrows bring the brute down in a bloody heap finally. A javelin sails in from the dark and is missed until it strikes home hitting Phoenix piercing armor and flesh (8pts damage).

Round 4.....

Rowan glances at Phoenix with a grimace, but knows she's tough. He delay slightly (if necessary), as he must wait for her light to advance. "Let's take this one down too!" he shouts.

OOC: Will advance (or charge) towards source of javelin with Phoenix, if possible.

I should add that I'm really enjoying adventuring with Lookspring. That's me, not Rowan. I don't think I've ever seen a chaotic evil PC played so well.

Phoenix, F Elan Soulknife 4 (AC: 20, HP: 40/40, PP: 2/6)

Pulling the javelin out of her body, Phoenix looks down to see the blood gushing out of the hole where it had been. With a thought, the blood catches fire and burns the pain away. With a smile she looks again as the flames die out to see the wound is no more. Nodding to Rowan, she moves forwad to find the next attacker.

OOC: Spend 4 PP to use Resilience power to get rid of the 8 damage. Then she'll move forward 30' unless she runs into the monster first. If she reaches melee range, then she'll attack it with her mindblade. If she gets close enough to see the monster but not reach it in melee, then she'll throw her mindblade. If she moves 30' and can't see the monster yet, she will ready an action to throw her mindblade if it comes within sight of her lightsource.
