Moving forward with Phoenix and Rowan in the lead.

[sblock=listen DC10] There are more than one something ahead.

[sblock=15] 2 speaking to one another hushed and not in common and they are big.[/sblock][/sblock]

Suddenly you hear another bellows seemingly shaking the tunnel and it is coming closer fast!

Rowan takes his companions' word for it. He can't tell much from the sound at all. He braces himself, with his guisarme extended, ready to deal sharp steel death to anyone coming in range.

OOC: Listen check 8, initiative 7

Rowan's AC is 18. His attack w/guisarme is +9 2d4+4. He has combat reflexes for a potential of 3 AoOs.

A large javelin appears in the light as it flies toward the group. Phoenix and Rowan watch it pass between them thudding into the ground. Then a large figure follows into the light. Standing 9' tall with dull yellow skin and rotting furs for clothing it bellows its challenge once again, what it lacks in grace it makes up for in volume. With a grin it points its massive great club at the group while still closing in.

The creature is at the edge of the light approximately 30' away. Standing behind the light Looksprings low light vision did not help him to see the creature sooner.

ooc: lucky for you it rolled a 1 for initiative. So all of you go before it.

Phoenix moves forward and strikes out at the towering monster with her mindblade that pulses with extra psionic energy. If she hits, the energy released should tear a nice sized hole in the monster...

Mindblade attack on monster with psychic strike and psionic weapon (1d20+8=15, 3d6+4+1d8=14)

OOC: Is this a 10' wide passage? Does the monster take up all 10' across so that nothing else can step up while it's there? (Asking since she heard more than one of something)

Rowan moves up, a step behind Phoenix. He doesn't close all the way with the creature, but uses his guisarme to attack without opening himself up to its long arms and club. He slashes down at its shoulder, trying to separate the arm from the body.

OOC: Close to 10' and attack with guisarme. He'll use two of his BAB to increase his damage with power attack. This makes his attack +7 2d4+8. His Ac remains at 18.

Attack rolls: to hit 11 dmg 14. Are these really d20s I'm rolling?

ooc: you estimate 2 of the creatures could fit side by side but would be cramped a bit and may risk hitting each other as you doubt these creatures have been trained to fight together. In any case only one is in sight.

Phoenix' mind blade just misses the creatures bulk, Looksprings arrows miss entirely as does Rowans attack.

The creature stumbles forward and swings his massive club at Rowan but barely misses (10ft reach) speraying Lookspring with a shower of dirt and rocks from the side of the cavern.

Now round 2....
