(Site Found!!)Ohio Gameday Part 3

It sounds like a good time for everyone! I'm afraid I can't plan on getting over to Dayton for the day. I'm usually good for a half day, but the extra couple hours for the trip is too long for me. If I end up with free time closer to the event, then I'll see if I can sneak over. Have a great time everyone! Good gaming!

Well, I will cross my fingers and hope that March 20th is the final date chosen. And while I consider running a continuation of the d20 CoC game I ran last Gameday, I'd like to ask Crothian if we're going to resume FotF?

Crothian:
Can you make some suggestions on how I might go about soliciting support in the form of products to be used as door prizes and giveaways for the Detroit Gameday later this month? I think they helped your events (and those elsewhere like Chicago), and I'd like to see shadowlight and Josh Dyal pull off a successful inaugural gameday. Thanks.

Can you not make it the 13th?

I e-mailed companies and asked them very politely for a donation of books. I gave then information on what the Gameday is as well as a link to the planning thread. I encouraged any questions they had. And I got very few responses, like one in 10. Some of them will know what an EN World Gameday is, other will not. I e-mailed every big company and many small ones. It didn't matter to me if they had a strong presence on EN World or not. I don't think there is really any secret to it. Also, of the few companies who agreed to send books, not all of them did. Good luck!!! :D

That may actually be even better than the 20th. I just overlooked a few of the previous posts which shifted dates being discussed away from the 20th and 27th, to the 13th and 20th.

There I go being hasty again, true to my name :p.

Thanks much.
While none of this may be a secret, it's nice to hear what has (and has not) been successful in prior experiences.

Whew!

It took some finagling, but I have (finally) secured the site for Ohio Gameday. We ended up getting the room on the 13th of March (sorry to those who can't make it that day!), and the room should hold the ~20 people we expect for the gathering. We'll have enough room to set up 4 tables comfortably, and 5 if we need to. There is ample parking right outside the building, and the site has a full kitchen with fridge and large freezer if anyone decides to bring munchies (or cook, even!).

I will be at the site from 8:30 until the last people leave, and we have about 24 hours to have the event and cleanup.

The site is in Dayton Ohio, and is pretty easy to get to. I will post very complete directions whn we get closer to the date, and will PM all those who decide to come with phone numbers to get hold of me if you get lost.

For those who are coming from out of town who may decide to stay in town instead of driving the long distance back home, there are numerous hotels and motels just minutes away, and we might be able to get a few of the local ENWorlders to put people up in ones and twos (calling fett and D'Shai!).

So, now that THAT is out of the way, let's get to it!
