Six From Gate Pass - A War of the Burning Sky Campaign (3.5)

Bannock grows mildly impatient, but checks himself, knowing these orcs will come through the door any second. He continues to be ready to slash at the next person to step through the doorway (readied power attack).

In the meantime though, he looks over at Haddin, sitting pitifully there in the corner, and angrily bellows,

"HADDIN! You old fart! Where are these vaunted powers of yours? Are you going to lie there and die, or will you finally DO SOMETHING?!"

Edit:

Seeing the Ragesian soldier enter the smashed portal, Bannock reflexively lunges with his Glaive. (accidental double click on "Roll"... site was being super slow). Take first roll.

Haddin, coughing and still gripping at his bloodstained chest, shuffles over to stand behind Kirio in order to get a look down the hallway (move to L15). Upon seeing no enemies he replies: "Do what you buffoon of a child? I'm barely standing. The doors are manned and there is no direct danger in this room. To what invisible foe shall I apply vast arcane energies? Were you hit too many times on the head by a smith's hammer? Have you eaten too many lead filings? I warn you fool, if you speak to me in that manner again I will do very unpleasant things to whatever mule brain you house in that iron pot of a skull. I will protect my house in my own way, and you will be silent on whether you approve or not, lest you suddenly find yourself stripping nude and humping the glowing embers in my hearth."

Crystin continues to delay in the corner, too frightened to offer any assistance.

The two soldiers once again try to gain footing and step into the house. Both manage to avoid slipping and maintain enough balance to step forward. The first soldier is able to cross the threshold into the home (H15) and the second follows behind (G15). "Surrender!" snarls the first soldier, "and perhaps Inquisitor Boreus will show mercy by only slaying you and skipping the interrogation!" He then raises his battleaxe and hastily chops downward at Lars, but fails to connect.

GM: Soldier at H15 attacked Lars, though we can ignore it if Bannock's readied attack kills him first. The attack missed anyway, so it doesn't really matter. :)

Torrent is at -2hp

Alric eyes the inquisitor a moment acutely aware of how intimidating and formidable the inquisitor looks compared to himself. "Give up?"

Alric sidesteps to the side of the inquisitor (5ft step to Q21) attempting to cut off his avenue of escape,
ya... he needs escape.
and brings his sword in a wide diagonal arc aiming for the inquisitors midsection.

OOC: I forgot to add the bonus for Kirio's song. the totals with the song are 16 attack, 13 damage.

Alric, your blade shears through the leather cords and hides that hang from the Inquisitor's chest, and slices open his flesh. He rears in pain and a horrible sounding cry rips out from behind his mask. Dark blood pours from the long curving wound and he snarls as he begins to chant ominous words and motion with his hands. They quickly pulsate with dark red energy and the Inquisitor strikes a bare hand out at Alric, connecting with his mailed chest. The energy crackles and hisses as it is discharged into Alric's body, which suddenly sprouts many small painful wounds which rip open and weep with blood.

Hrimr gasps when he sees the orc drop Torrent in a mess of blood. He knows he must get to her soon, but realizes he needs to take care of this skeleton first.

Hrimr steps back 5 feet (m10) and draws hit pick with his free hand. He then attempts to smash the skeleton.

The wolf continues to attack the inquisitor. It then disappears in a puff of smoke.

OOC: I added the song bonus to the wolf. Just subtract it if it doesn't apply.

Hrimr, your pick strikes sparks off of the skeleton's smoking shield.

The summoned wolf is able to sink is jaws into the meaty thigh of the inquisitor, ripping flesh and spilling blood, before the summoning spell expires and it dissappears.

Kirio stops playing as he drops his flute and runs out of the house with his bow in hand (O 14), and seeing the bloody mess that is Torrent on the grounde lets an arow fly at the crazily angry looking Orc with swinging the bastard sword...

Lars squeezes past Bannock, (5-ft step to J14), drops his crossbow and makes a blowing gesture and waves his hand towards the Ragesian in front of him (cast Daze at H15).

Kirio, your arrow grazes the neck of the raging half-orc, cutting a deep bloody slash in his flesh. Roaring in pain, he then bursts towards Kirio howling a challenge and holding his blood-stained blade above his head (charge to O15). He charges like a bloodied and rabid animal, ropes of reddish drool dripping from his frothy mouth. In his last steps he pounces and brings the sword down in a massive over-the-head chop. The blade whips Torrent's blood into Kirio's face just before the tip of the blade connects with the elf's sternum. Armor splits, flesh rips and you can all hear the sickening sound of bones cracking as the half-orc's sword cuts a deep gouge out of Kirio.

Battle at the Farmhouse - Round 5

GM: Kirio, you're at 0/12 hp. You're not dying, but you are disabled. A disabled character may take a single move action or standard action each round (but not both, nor can she take full-round actions). She moves at half speed. Taking move actions doesn’t risk further injury, but performing any standard action (or any other action the game master deems strenuous, including some free actions such as casting a quickened spell) deals 1 point of damage after the completion of the act. Unless the action increased the disabled character’s hit points, she is now in negative hit points and dying.

Initiative order got a little messed up there, so Arnir is up next. Bannock, note your new position in the order due to your readied action last round.

Also, if you're going to cast a spell and it requires a save, you need to tell me the DC.

Lars, the Ragesian Soldier succumbs to your daze spell and he stands in the hallway looking confused and drowsy.

Arnir calls out behind him franticly: "Haddin, I hope you're prepared for company...."

Arnir's fingers tremble as he draws back the string for another shot at the Orc that has now leveled two of his companions in one shot.

Mystra save me...

As the arrow connects, Arnir pulls back into the cottage beside Crystin at K13
