Six From Gate Pass - A War of the Burning Sky Campaign (3.5)

Arnir, your arrow strikes the barbaric half-orc as he looms over the critically injured Kirio. You see the fletching quiver as the shaft of the arrow drives into his heart with a thud. The half-orc screams in pain and then falls to his knees, struggling to pull the arrow from his bloody chest. He grips on tightly and pulls it out a few inches before vomiting, coughing violently and falling over in a lifeless heap.

Hrimr, the skeleton before you once again attempts to slash at you with its single minded purposefulness. The scimitar deflects off your hide armor. The rest of the skeletons continue to march away, into the distance.

Torrent continues to lay in an ever-expanding pool of her own blood.

Inside the house, Haddin grumbles as he sees the two soldiers enter his home. He eyes the soldier furthest away from him (G15) and speaks arcane words and forms gestures with his bloody hands. After casting, he calls out to the far soldier in a harsh tongue.

[sblock="if you speak Orc"]My friend, what are you doing? The soldier in front of you is trying to kill me and my daughter. You must stop him for me![/sblock]

Bannock delivers a powerful upward scything attack on the half orc in front of him.

OOC: For posterity, I'd like to mark this post as a special anniversary: This is my 10th missed attack roll in a row (not counting attacks rolled by DM) Woohoo!

Bannock, your glaive scrapes off the surface of the soldier's heavy shield.

The second soldier (G15) looks dizzily around the hallway before shaking his head as if to clear a fog and then calls out to his ally in another burst of Orcish. He then raises his axe and tries to hack him in the back, but the heavy strike is deflected by his target's banded mail.

Due to Lars' daze spell, the other soldier can only look on in confusion as his friend suddenly turns on him.

[sblock="if you speak Orc"]"Ermlan! Why would you invade my friends' home and try to kill him? You must die for this!"[/sblock]

Alric howls in agony at the touch of the foul inquisitor. The grip on his sword wavers and he nearly drops it, though somehow the agony abates without killing him and he looks the inquisitor again. Now it is obvious, the inquisitor must die, or he will very shortly.

Alric makes a desperate thrust at the inquisitor's midsection, putting all the weight and momentum he can behind the strike.

As the sword sails over the inquisitor's shoulder, Alric looks at him in pure terror and says, "Oh bullocks..."

The Inquisitor takes a tactical step back from the flailing Alric (5ft step to Q19). He then points both hands towards the human warrior and chants deep, dark phrases. Orange-red flames dance on his mottled fingertips and coalesce into a swirling mass. The fire surges for a moment and then blast outward at Alric in a fifteen foot cone. The fire washes over his armor and flesh, igniting clothing and hair and his severely burnt and blackened body collapses to the ground in a smoking ruin.

GM: Alric is currently at -3 hp. Alric on your turn, remember your stabilization check.

Hrimr shaken by the scimtar to the chest that thankfully didn't cut through his armour takes a step back (L10). As he steps back he draws one of the enchanted stones from his pouch and hurls it with all his strength at the skeleton chasing him.

GM: Kirio is stuck in an all-day conference from which he has asked me to play the following turn. :)

Kirio fights of a wave of nausia, more from the unreal nature of the gapping wound in his chest rather than the pain, which shock seems to for now be keeping at bay.

He shouts a three note tune as he waves his left hand over the wound (cast cure light wounds) and moves back into the house (just inside door, to left of Arnir - M12).

GM: Kirio, you're currently at 2 hp (since you lose a hp for taking a standard action)

OOC: Apparently I DM cursed your cure light wounds roll. Apologies! :)

"Bannock! I think Haddin and I can handle these two, I think the others are in trouble out front!"

Lars casts Daze once more upon the nearest Ragesian.
