Size change and ranged weapons

Has anyone encountered this problem? A halfling archer PsW/Scout who uses the compression power to reduce his size to diminutive. He deals less damage with his bow- goes from d6 to d3- but he winds up with an additional +5 to hit, counteracting the penalty fairly easily from Greater Manyshot. He winds up taking a blanket -1 to fire 3 arrows via Manyshot that all benefit from his Improved Skirmish. At one point I checked to see that there HAD to be some sort of range reduction for dropping your size from 3.5 feet tall down to 6 inches tall, but no, apparently whether size Fine or size Colossal, a Composite long bow remains 110 feet range increments. Has this been errata'd anywhere?

IMHO there is no need for errata. In overall, being smaller is much troublesome in 3.Xe.

You can always let someone try to commit some special attacks which involves special size modifier (Disarm, Grapple, Sunder, Swallow Whole, etc.). Also, you may be interested in checking wind effect rule in DMG. Being diminutive has a lot of disadvantages.

Wind effect. Perfect. I know exactly where to look for that table, too. That light breeze is gonna be a lot more annoying when it's applying a -8 to ranged attacks from diminutive creatures. And I even described the region they're fighting in as having a reasonably common breeze :)

The ammunition is technically the same weight regardless of the size of the launcher. While that's not terribly realistic, it's one of the cases where the rules comprimise for the sake of simplicity. So as long as the arrows are the same size, I REALLY see no reason to alter ranges due to size.

At least the player hasn't figured out to use thrown weapons yet. :) Since objects leaving your person return to their original size, thrown weapons retain their original (in the case of compression, higher) damage. Again, since the damage of projectile weapons is determined by the launcher, this is why it does not affect bows. (and yet again, reason not to mess with the rules -- even if the arrows DO change size, they change back as soon as they're fired)
