Skills that PC shouldn't get?

I play in ShallOwn's game as the pansy elf bard/bladesinger. I have a lot of skills that I work into the game on a regular basis. Decipher Script is handy when we need a clue about some prophecy or other, our rogue heavily used Use Magic Device (a wand of detect magic is a great way figure out the good stuff to lift), etc.
Diplomacy is a good skill to have if used correctly. Not every player is as silver toungued as the character they are playing, and making a diplomacy check with a modifier for the player's RP is a good way to balance this.

I feel oddly left out - at one point or another in the game I DM every skill has been needed, whether anyone in the party had it or not. Have a few fights on a steeply pitched roof and see how fast they start wishing that they had the balance skill! (Only one PC ended up as street pizza, one decided his skills were more needed keeping watch, he ended up being the one to scrape the fighter off of the cobbles and heal him back to zero HP, and the other two had a high enough dex bonus to compensate... the rogue and the bard. The wizard was no where near the action, being engaged elsewhere.)

The Auld Grumpunder 3.0 however no one ever used Intuit direction or innuendo.
