Skype + Cell Phone w/ Bluetooth?

Roudi

First Post
My fiancée and I recently purchased two new cell phones (Sony Ericsson W300i's) that feature Bluetooth. We've already had a lot of fun transferring pictures and contact information via Bluetooth. Also, we've been paying for Unlimited SkypeOut on an annual basis and using it for our long distance calls ($35 CDN a year beats any price, and it covers calls to Canada and the US). Our only problem is that my headset is several years old and falling apart. I'm loathe to purchase a new headset just so I can use Skype, so an idea hit me. What I'd like to do is this:

1) Purchase a Bluetooth USB dongle adapter.
2) Pair my cell phone to my computer in a manner that recognizes it as a sound input/output device.
3) Configure Skype to use the cell phone for sound input and output.

Anyone know offhand if something like this is possible?

Not really. if it is a windows based phone, you can load the skype portable client and use 802.11 to use skype out. There are a ton a usb/bluetooth headsets that can be used like you are asking.

I use skype world wide (travel a lot for my job).....

you are better off just getting a Bluetooth headset for your comp...

Even if it did work, how would you control whether it used bluetooth or regular cell calls? :\

I see the market for more hybrid phones (cellphone + wifi, cellphone + skype/sip), but so far manufacturers aren't biting.
