Slaine is impressive

Crothian

I must admit I was unsure what it was going to be like. I've never heard of the Comic this is from before Mongoose anounced they were doing this. Just let me say "Wow!!". I'm not done reading through it, but I think it's going to edge out Book of the Rightious as my favorite d20 book. This is well written and seems to be a fun, adventursome world to play in. Also, I'mnot one for art, but this art is fantastic. I think it's some of the best I've seen.

I know not many people have this, but for anyone interested I suggest giving it a looks through at your local store. We have two reviews up in the Review Section of En World and both give this 5/5. When I'm done reading it, U'll post a review on it as well.

Cool! Slaine was among my faves when I was reading 2000AD when I was younger.

Of course finding others willing to play is another matter. Still, it sounds like it'd be fun readin.

The world is very well done. As I said, I know nothing of the comic, but the book is good enough to inspire anyone to want to play there.

Is Slaine D20 or use another gaming system?

It's d20 with a few atlreations like an honor system, no alignment, different core classes and races, and a magic system based off of skills that any character has the potential to use. I'm sure there are a few other differences, but those are the major ones I've noticed.

It's truely wonderful, buy it, you won't be sorry.
One of my favorite d20 books (alongside Spycraft, Dragonstar, Judge Dreed and Freeport)

I'm suprised how close the tpye of characters (human only) fit into Morgan Llywelyn's Bard: The Odyssey of the Irish. It's a good book, and many of the parts with the characters in it fit perfectl;y with the classes in Slaine. The world's different, but the attitudes of the Bards and Druids seems to be the same.
