Slaves of the Dragon (orsal judging)

Village:
[sblock]"Eh?" Marl stares at you, and continues, somewhat whispering, "what kind of game are you think you playin'? Who in his right mind gives gold, where copper is asked for?" He bites the coins, and, apparently pleased at the result, pockets them. "Eh! That'll buy you some days in the barn. Over there, around the corner," he points, and starts closing the door again.[/sblock]

Wilderness:
[sblock]Planus can, strangely enough, move through brush for some time. Suddenly, there is a loud (or is it just his imagination?) crack as he steps on a twig. Holding his breath, he waits for a reaction....

which isn't coming. Moving on, he gets to a crude path moving from Grenton to the south, moving past the tower. Finally, he gets to the tower itself...

An opening in the back allows him to sneak in, and take a quick look...

It is empty. Quite literally. A shell, without a possibility to get a lookout up. What would be the purpose of this...[/sblock]

OOC: Marl is faster tha Opale... I thought the same :P

When the door is closed and Opales is sure that Marl can't hear, she whispers to her companion. "Now, that is discretion. Two gold pieces! You want to attract attention on us? In small villages like that, gossip run faster than a dragon can fly. To buy someone silence, you give a little more, not ten times the worth of the service. Next time, think twice before being generous, it can bring you troubles."

"Relax... At half a silver a head, it just means we'll be staying here a few days, that's all." Jack says. "Besides, I wasn't buying silence, I was buying future cooperation."

Wilderness: [SBLOCK]Planus reports his findings to the rest of the wilderness group. "Why would anyone make an empty tower without a way to even get to the top? Someone wanted to make it appear the villiage was defended. The villiagers? Or someone else? The dragon?"[/SBLOCK]

"Futur cooperation. Would have been nice if she was already trusting us, just a little bit. But with everyone so xenophobe here, I fear you just brought us some unwanted attention. I just hope I am wrong."

Wilderness[SBLOCK]Was there a platform up top by any chance? If there is, they have something flying. OR we just found a good spot to ambush the dragon from.[/SBLOCK]

Veras-Re, Dwarf Egoist, Wilderness Party

[sblock]
Veras-Re nods at Rika's words when she mentions flyers. He looks at the tower, focusing on its shape and trying to see if Liberitas has a good chance of scaling it.

"If not for ambush, an empty tower would do well to hide our presence from the skies. We should see if it has seen recent habitation or disturbance. It could make for a Headquarters or a rallying point for worse times"

In town-
Katherine calls after the woman, "If you think of anything that would help find traces of her, let me know." and chooses to end it there rather than causing talk running after her.

She joins the others in the barn and unloads Nibbles and makes up a bed for herself, while chatting with the others about her latest bardic project - a song in multiple languages that expresses the same sentiment from the point of veiw of many races. While trying out various verses aloud, she says to jack in his racial tongue, "do you think its worth me trying to talk to anyone tonight, or do you want to try to sneak out after dark?"

Veras-Re, Dwarf Psion Wilderness Party

Wilderness

[sblock] Veras-Re summons Liberitas from Planus' possession and it skitters toward the dwarf psion until it reaches his open palm. He decides to let it scale the tower and investigate its top.

He grunts his intentions to the others in his party, then waits to see if anyone is interested in escorting the psionic stone. He is too unstealthy to do so with the required subtlety.

Whether anyone volunteers or not, he sends the psicrystal scurrying toward the tower. It moves slowly from cover to cover, doing its best to hide from view while reporting mentally to Veras-Re.

If it reaches the tower, it begins its ascent (taking 10). Its progress is very slow, since it seeks to be stealthy (half move) while climbing.

Veras-Re draws his dagger, planning to throw it should any threat be found atop the tower.

Liberitas: Climb +14*, Listen +6, Hide +14, Move Silently +6, Search +2, Spot +6
*has a Climb speed.
