Now clerics have a mechanical reason to carve holy symbols on their armor.
You want a moment to prepare yourself for the inevitable wave of fury, ire, and vitrolic sarcasm I will unleash on you?Now clerics have a mechanical reason to carve holy symbols on their armor.
Yes, it's in the Dragon Compendium and proves that you can use Sleight of Hand in combat.
Benefit: While engaged in combat, you may attempt to use the Sleight of Hand skill to pickpocket an enemy without provoking an attack of opportunity...
Normal: Using Sleight of Hand in melee provokes an attack of opportunity.
So yes, Sleight of Combat works just fine in combat. If you are playing a spellcaster I suggest bringing backup pouches and divine foci.
1) Multiple pouches. If your opponent needs to spend four standard actions to disarm you in this manner, you get three chances to slaughter him before he can finish. Assuming all the spells you have ready rely on you having your spell components pouch.Possible defenses?
So...for a flat DC of 15, could you not only pickpocket things in combat, but also "steal defensively" without a feat cost?![]()

2) Invisibility - it can be made Permanent on objects. And you can make See Invisibility permanent for yourself (after 10th or 11th level, costs 1,000 xp for you, 1,000 xp for your pouch).
The problem with that, and Slight of Hand yourself to hide it, being that you potentially lose the benefits of a spell components pouch - namely, the free action to draw components out of it.3) Mentioned above - take the stuff out of the pouch and put it in pockets.
That's not a benefit provided by a spell component pouch. All material spell components work that way.The problem with that, and Slight of Hand yourself to hide it, being that you potentially lose the benefits of a spell components pouch - namely, the free action to draw components out of it.
