Slings- Thrown weapons?

Hello...
You'd think this would be an easy answer to find, but I've looked and have come up emtpy...

Basically, are Slings considered Thrown Weapons? (i.e., do Halflings get the +1 bonus?) If I were DMing I'd say 'yes' but I'm not so I can't...

If slings aren't 'thrown', then what are the stats on a thrown rock? How about a thrown sling bullet? PHB lists stats for a slinged rock as opposed to using sling bullets, but nothing about thrown.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, slings are projectile weapons, not hurled weapons. It's in the equipment section on weapons.

I did a quick search through the SRD and couldn't locate anything specific about throwing rocks.

Sorry,
Greg

"Improvised Thrown Weapons", like rocks, are mentioned on PH p. 97 under the heading of "Range Increment". It says "their size and the damage they deal have to be adjudicated by the DM".
