[smackdown] Missile barrage

Concept: an spellcaster firing as many missles as possible. Limits: 16th level character

There is a spell call Flame Bolt in Relics and Rituals that would work well for this purpose. It works just like magic missle, except there is no missle cap, it includes 1 more missle than MM, and you have to roll to hit.

So, right now I am thinking Evoker 16, using twined flame bolts, 3.0 hasted, quickend, and using Imbue Familar with Spell Ability.

So, in 1 round:
2 quickend empowered Flame Bolts (caster and familar)
4 twinned empowered Flame Bolts (caster standard and hasted, dito familar)

Each Flame Bolt from this caster deals 9d4+9, so all those spells would end up at (54d4+54)*1.5, or 283.5 damage if they all hit.

Now the question to all the powergamers is: how can I get more? I haven't addressed stuff, which comes out to more than 200,000 gp. The question to the lawers: is this even possible.

Depending of the spell level of the Flame Bolt, you could add energy admixture to the spell (+4 spell levels).
For just receiving more missilies to the sky, you could use Delay spell (+3 spell levels) for casting Flame bolt at 5 previous round with delays of 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 rounds so effect of all those spells would come at the 6th level (same when you would cast 6 flame bolts anyway)

Cast TK on 4000 shuriken, deal 4000 damage.

Add various damage boosters (prayer, divine favour) for lots of extra damage. (Those two spells put the damage up to 28000.)

Use haste or Quicken Spell to launch more.

If money is no object, enchant the shuriken.

I see your Kung Fu is not as strong as mine. Since the rule of this smackdownis QUANTITY of fire, rather than QUALITY of fire ... I'll go with Dominate Person ... and build an ARMY.

Comprised of everyone 5th level and below, from an entire decent-sized everyone between the ages of twelve and fifty, from two or three entire villages or towns. Granted, being 17th level and having access to Teleportation Circle would make GATHERING them in one place more simple, but, it's not required (a couple scrolls of that spell would suffice, in fact).

Step 1: enter a village or town.
Step 2: convince the town/village leadership to gather the populace for "an announcement of great importance", by whatever nonviolent means are needed (some heightened Charm PErson spells should work well).
Step 3: let the (for example) Chain Dominate Person spells fly; grab 17 new followers at a whack with each one.
Step 4: lather.
Step 5: rinse.
Step 6: repeat.

With, say, Wizard(5)/Red Wizard(10)/Archmage(1), one should be able to pull off some niely-smack-ish DCs; what's more, with a duration of 16 days ... you should be able to clear out 2, perhaps even 3 towns -- say, 200 suckers per town? More?

So. How does 40o+ assorted arrows, bolts, thrown javelins, and so on sound ... PLUS those telekines'ed shuriken?

Bah. As cool as it might be to have a Floating Disk heaped with shuriken, your smack lacks orginality. Just a rules exploit, one that many DMs rightly close. I would also question whether spells like prayer can increase the damage output of a spell.

Besides, if you could get that much damage on 1 spell, I could just do it 4 times for 112000 damage :p

Weak! Against any sort of decent 16th level oppent, 95% of those peons will miss. Are you going to chain GMW on all of them? If you don't DR will kill you in short order. Even if an opponent doesn't have DR, you can only believe that 20 will hit, for 22d8 (crits) for an average damage of 99. That is if you can get all those people into range.

I won't say that I haven't done this with a vampire before though :) Dominate Person at will so begs to be broken.
