Doesn't hurt that the girl who plays Alicia is pretty hot to boot. Comparable to Lana and (IMO) better looking than the girl who plays Lois.

Lana? LANA?

Good god, man, are you BLIND? It's called Chloe! Learn it, live it, love it.

Yes, I know it's a matter of personal taste, but I just couldn't let that one go by. Heh. Lana just isn't attractive (IMO) and Lois looks 35. Chloe still doesn't appear quite young enough to be in high school, but at least she looks like she's in the right ballpark.

And other than that Lana thing, I agree with you. Alisha is beautiful and what's more, the actors actually have chemistry. They've messed up enough continuity versus the comics already... why NOT totally depart and have the two of them together until something horrible happens to her (as it inevitably will)?

Chloe had her first sexual encounter with "A guy named Jimmy at the Daily Planet." Awesome. :)
Isn't Jimmy Olsen younger than Clark (and thus Chloe)?

As an aside, I thought this episode blew chunks. Definitely one of those "no wonder they say Smallville is marketed to the 'young woman' demographic" episodes.

My favorite line of the episode:

Alicia: "I want this to last forever!"
Clark: "I'm not sure if that's one of my abilities, but I'll give it a shot."

All in all, pretty fun episode. Not mind-blowing or pivotal, but it was a good ramp-up to the February sweeps.

Chloe had her first sexual encounter with "A guy named Jimmy at the Daily Planet." Awesome. :)

Yeah, I was impressed with both. A very good episode all around. Except for Lana's lame attempt to get her guy into bed. Didn't like how that went. All the Clark stuff was good though.

I enjoyed it. But not enough to fill the gaping hole left by no Naruto episode this week.

And I agree, seeing Clark enjoy using his powers and just plain having fun through out the episode was a nice change. Some of my favorite X-Men comics are baseball games or snowball fights or other mundane games that show you superheroes getting some happiness and rewards for their sacrifices.

Haven't read the more recent Supes comics, but AFAIK (i.e., until the election of Lex and Pete), Pete Ross doesn't know of the Clark/Superman secret.

Yep. Pre-Crisis, the Earth-1 Superman's identity was known to Pete but not Lana -- he was kind of his sidekick when Clark was Superboy. Post-Crisis, his identity is known to Lana but not Pete; he was never Superboy in the current reality, and revealed his powers to Lana after they graduated from high school. Pete still doesn't know, and has taken on a much smaller role in the Superman comics as a result.

She was doing her summer internship. Other interns, of even younger ages, might also be at the Planet also doing their summer jobs. Someone has to get all of those hardcore news guys their coffee and alphabetize their rolodexes....and in at night, while the cleaning ladies are mopping the floors and the interns are slaving away as underpaid slave labor, Chloe found a sort of magic with the little creep. Ew. :D

Chloe's easily the most likeable woman in Clark's circle, and Allison Mack's a long way from unatractive and probably the best actress of the bunch. But I've never seen on-screen chemistry on the show like Lois & Clark had, and even if Kristin Kreuk isn't much of an acress, she's still the best looking of them.

Incidentally, Erica Durance [Lois] is actually 26, while Mack and Kreuk are both 22, and Tom Welling is 27.

Lord please not let us try to unravel the DC comic cannon and mythos.

And I agree at sometimes I am like "Hey that doesn't happen, it can't be!" but other times I really like them blurring the lines, and you almost think that he might not end up with lois in THIS particular WB universe.

I don't mind the way this episode went down. Makes you realize that there was a Clark before there was ever a Superman.

There is some movie quote about Humanity and weakness. How Superman views humanity as weak and slow so he pretends to be Clark what was that from?
