And see strangely enough I find Kreuk to be just about the best actor on the show. She doesn't always get great material to work with, but she does "emotional" like no one else (though Mack does it pretty well at times too).

Best actor? WTF?

Okay, she can do self-absorbed princess pretty darn well, but that's about it. I've seen her on a couple other flicks (Snow White remake and Earthsea mini-series), and wasn't the least bit impressed.

Michael Rosenbaum, John Schneider, Annette O'Toole, John Glover, Allison Mack? They can outact Kruek without even trying, and even on their worst days are still enjoyable to watch in character.

The only thing Kruek has going for her, and really the only reason she got hired in the first place was due to her looks. The producers wanted somebody that was "beautiful" for Lana, and Kruek fit the bill. Problem is she's got no consistent chemistry with the rest of the cast, and zilch with Welling (which is what made Season 2 almost unwatchable barring the Christopher Reeve guest appearance).

It almost seems like she's coasting, doing just enough to get by. Welling may have started out with nothing in the way of real acting experience, but at least he's putting some effort into it (and has apparantly been taking notes from the more established actors on the show in terms of how to do his job).

I have to agree with those who think that Lana is the worst thing in that show. I almost fall asleep when she comes on the screen.

And she's so earnest and serious. I've never seen her rmake a joke or say anything even vaguely lighthearted. She needs to lighten up a little.

Agree on the parents. As for the kids, I can agree on that with the exceptions of Lana and Lex. The former's just one big suck on the show, the latter has been pretty consistently good regardless of what he's given to work with.
