Smashed World, part III

"I need to visit the general store and the blacksmith, but after that I'm good to go."

"Which reminds me." Horros looks at Chendra, "Did your father equip you with enough traveling money?"

"Oh, I know which end of a sword goes to the bad guys, but that's pretty much it", Chendra says, "speaking of which, Daddy said that there'd be a pack mule with some things on it..."
She looks around, trying to spot the aforementioned mule.

Looking over the saddlebags on Miss Chendra's horse, Durban comes to the conclusion that she propably didn't attach them herself. Everything is fastened with professional care.

In a moment, the missing mule comes to view from behind a corner. It is being lead by one of the guards, who is holding the reins with his other hand, while there is a something long and slender wrapped in paper in his other hand.
The guard greets Chendra as he comes closer. "Here are the rest of the equipment your father has provided for the trip. And here is the sword that you requested."
Chendra takes the wrapped up sword with glee in her eyes and starts quickly tearing the wrapping away. Surprisingly, the blade isn't ornately adorned, but just an ordinary-looking longsword.

Horros shakes his head and murmurs, "Somehow this doesn't reassure me about the sense of this idea."

"Okay lets see what his excellence has outfitted us, and what we can simply leave out."

Durban

Durban nods knowingly at the sight of the blade, even though he isn't an expert.

"Looks like Chendra is ready. Lorcan do you mind if we double ride again? I'm still not too steady ahorse."

Were any of those XP awards already given out? I've lost track.

OOC:It looks like this is the first experience reward we have recieved

"I can't say that I am very experienced with weapons, but so long as you know how to use it. I agree with Horros, we should remove what isn't needed."

[font=&quot]Horros sighs in resignation.

"I guess I'll have to see what the two of you can do when we have some time. Is there anyone else who wants to make a confession about their skills with weapons? Wouldn't want to have a nasty surprise when we eventually face combat."

OOC: We got some experience in the end of the first chapter, but for some reason I haven't written it down to anywhere.

UPDATE: Here's the experience we received from the first part. I had completely forgotten that there were more players back then.

Durban, Haplo, Horros, Zon and Lorcan receive 900 XP
Lisa gains only 600 XP due to not participating to the last encounter.

None of the awards written earlier were awarded before, the award you get back in first part was different. Though now that I think back on it, I think I maybe should've awarded more XP back then... But I'm not going to go through that thread to see what there should be.

Going over everything on the pack mule reveals the following pieces of equipment:
*High-quality rations to keep you all fed for a month, including the pack mule and Chendra's horse (no rations for your mounts, however)
*Two 50ft coils of silk rope
*Various tools, including two axes, two hammers and a pouch of nails, and a saw.
*A healer's kit
*Two vials of Holy Water
*A bag containing, by your quick approximation, some 200 silver coins
*Firewood for a couple of big bonfires, or multiple smaller ones
*Tindertwigs
*Various other pieces of equipment

"Not at all, my friend. Ceinwen's strong enough to carry two with ease, aren't you girl?" Lorcan pats his horse fondly on the neck.

"Your father has well provided for you. And us, for that matter." He smiles at Chendra. "I'll give you some lessons with that sword while we're on the road, and you should get a fair idea of how to use it. After all, your 'kidnapping' proved you've got plenty of talents we didn't know about."

"Nice. There's some traveling money. There's also plenty of food and everything imaginable that might prove useful.
"Hmm, we could manage without most of the tools, but they don't weight much so there's no point in leaving them. Does anyone know the area we are heading to? Do we need this much firewood?"

OOC: After adding in that extra 900 exp Howling Coyote pointed out, that gives me enough exp to level. Should I go ahead and level my character, or wait till the pcs have more downtime?
