Sneak Attack and Ghosts

The text on ghosts says that they "retain all special attacks of the base creature", but that "any that rely on physical contact do not function".

Can a rogue ghost make sneak attacks via its corrupting touch ability?

Thanks for the info! I note that the corrupting touch attack doesn't specifically mention the sneak attack damage being added in, but I don't see why it wouldn't -- right?

That makes rogue ghosts pretty potent, especially since they can pass through walls. Combine with the +8 bonus to stealth and you've got one vicious hit-and-run opponent!

Throw in spring attack and it gets REALLY ugly...

Sadly, one of the cheesest things a DM can do is keep the Ghost/Greater wraith/what-have-you inside a solid object and attack somebody. Its like playing tag with somebody who cries no tag-backs while draining your strength away.

Well, if the ghost keeps doing it over and over, the PCs are within their rights to ready actions for the next attempt. It would have to come out in some way to make the attacks or it would be attacking blind -- and in this moment it would be vulnerable. It's not really any more cheesy than the mechanics for, say, the phase spider.

I'd say the ghost would need to come partly out of the wall or floor while using stealth (which would give it "cover" for the purposes of stealth) before it could see what was going on in the room. PCs would get a chance to detect it then.

Not fool-proof, but very nasty.
