sneak attack damage

what damage bonuses (if any) add into sneak attack. Str bonus damage? Magical weapon bonus damage? If i have a 3rd level rogue with a 18 str and a +2 magical sword what is my sneak attack damage?

+2d6 no bonus damage
+2d6+2 magical only
+2d6+4 str only or
+2d6+6 both magical and str

you don't add in bonuses to sneak attack...it is it's own damage bonus. So you get regular weapon damage dx +6 (2 for magic bonus and 4 for str) and then add 2d6. If you score a crit on a sneak attack...figure out your crit damage then add 2d6

hope that helps!

You add nothing to Sneak Attack damage dice. They are added in after all other damage is computed. They do not get STR additions, Magic additions, and are not multiplied during critical hits.

In your example, you would do: [normal damage] + 2d6.

Of course, your normal damage includes your STR and magic, but is not added again for Sneak Attack.

Wow! two posts at the same time! cool timing.

For example, my 1st level halfling rogue with Str 12 Attacks with a dagger.

Normal Attack = 1d4+1 Damage
Critical Hit = 2d4+2 Damage
Sneak Attack = 1d4+1d6+1 Damage
Critical Sneak Attack = 2d4+1d6+2

So, as the gentlemen said above, Sneak Attack is in of itself a modifier, that gets added last after everything else has been added/multiplied.
