Well, injury-type poison is called out specifically in the DR text:
Whenever damage reduction completely negates the damage from an attack, it also negates most special effects that accompany the attack, such as injury type poison, a monk’s stunning, and injury type disease.
As far as I can tell, the 'instantly heals' is flavour, rather than mechanics.
Let's say I have 3 hit points, and DR 15/magic of the 'instantly heals' variety. You hit me with a nonmagical axe for 14 points of damage.
Am I dead? Was I dead?
