Just out of curiousity, about the Hulking Hurler thing...where are they supposedly getting this unlimited supply of 3 ton boulders, anyways?
I mean, setting aside the need to get DM approval to play a non-standard race with racial Hit Dice and a hefty level adjustment...
Or that, to really make it take off, you also have to get your DM to allow the rarely seen, clearly not intended for PC's, War Hulk...
But really, rocks the size of hamlets certainly don't spring out of thin air, and I don't see the theoritical hulking hurler being able to scoop up a conveinently placed hurling implement of optimal weight every time they stretch out their hands.
Granted, he could maybe commission himself a nice, big, rock, or ball of lead or something, and haul that around, but it's still just one projectile, and by the rules, he'd barely be able to stagger around when holding it...not the most portable of weapons, me thinks.
Not to mention the logistics of trying to get through a high-level adventure just trudging along, rolling your big sphere of doom in front of you. No city or other civilian building is going to allow that monstrosity, and it's not going to fit into most dungeons either. Not to mention adventures that require swimming, mountain climbing, flying....
Plus, rocks the size of ski slopes are prone to splitting and such when thrown around all the time. It's easy to argue that such weapons are assumed broken upon use, like ammunition. At the very least, it would qualify as an improvised weapon and thus be subject to breaking at inconvenient times.
But hey, that's just me. I wouldn't let someone qualify for a Prc by just wearing a ring of evasion , either, so what do I know?
