D&D 5E So, 5e OGL

True.

That said, it doesn't really go against my actual point, which was that creating a 5e SRD is just splitting and complicating things further. It's still not entirely clear to me what the line of division is between the Basic Rules and the "Core Rules". Are the Basic Rules now fixed? Would an SRD be updated and the Basic not? Would Basic be updated and an SRD not? If neither is, or both are, why have two?

Lots of variables, for sure. They did say they would be updating the Basic rules. Having not done any comparison, I'm not really sure if they have followed through with that.

until someone brings it up again :p

I don't think anyone did bring it up (edition warring that is, or company warring, or what have you). :p

My point was that there is so much more that WotC could be doing with RPGs. But instead RPG games are relegated to a 2nd tier project with a skeleton team. This is not a matter of edition warring. It's a genuine desire for them to be leading the charge as the industry leader they could be if they wanted to be. I am glad you think that their offerings are the bees-knees. More power to you. But they could and should demonstrably be the largest, most active RPG company on the planet by a wide margin and they are not.

Probably don't need to do it ever. Trashing on game companies isn't constructive discussion.

I can't speak to that. I was just hoping that we could keep this thread poised for the inevitable, sudden news about to emerge regarding an open 5E license.

Coming soon....

Any day now....

Just around the corner....

My point is they are doing way more then you give them credit for all the while giving others a free pass... It was plain piano v WoTC 're read what you wrote. I stand behind the fact that innovating a new system to out sell your last ISNT end tier

Sometimes I struggle with your posts but I can fight my way through to understanding them. This one, however, has me on the ropes. I'm guessing "Billy Joel took D&D to court for copyright infringement?" Was it over the "Only the Good Die Young" feat? ;)

Seriously, no idea what you were trying to say there.

If there was some breaking news, why would anyone break it buried on page 52 of a thread, where only a tiny handful of peaple would see it? I would start a new thread if I had such a scoop!
