Flanders and Swann album - e.g. "Have some madeira M'dear" available here in a version which was slightly toned down for American TV audiences

In my car's CD player, I have:
  1. Los Lobos' Tin Can Trust
  2. Robert Plant's Band of Joy
  3. The Black Keys' Brothers
  4. The John Legend & The Root's collaboration
  5. Iron Maiden's Final Fontier
  6. The first disc of the new 2 disc collection from Soundgarden

Recent exiles from the car's changer include the latest from Filter (OK), the latest from Herbie Hancock (2-4 incredibly solid songs, the rest ho hum), the latest from Carlos Santana (50% awesome, 50% avg. Santana), and Metallic Spheres, the collaboration between The Orb and David Gilmour which was too much The Orb and far too little David Gilmour. I like electronica, but this didn't seem to have much life in it until the end of track 2 (there are only 2 tracks).

Online, I've been listening to tunes from Dengue Fever, The Heavy, Brad, Bat For Lashes, Kool Keith/Dr. Octagon/Ultramagnetic MCs, Eric Johnson and Animals as Leaders...to add to the old shopping list, don'tcha know.

The Auld Grump, Lay me down by the river,
facing the hot desert sun.
The winds will scatter my ashes
after the coyotes are done....

Lots of classical stuff recently...

On cable, I watch a bit of VH-1 Classic and MTV for a few particular shows, but Palladium and HD Net. Both channels air concerts in HD, the former gets multi-artist festivals like Bonnaroo, the latter gives us single group shows like Santana, Cowboy Junkies, James Taylor, and so forth.
