(Netflix) K-POP DEMON HUNTERS

I watched it with my GF - we liked it and we still catch each other humming the songs, but I thought it was a bit overhyped. It was ok and entertaining, but once the freshness of the premise cooled off it felt like a very traditional tropey story and movie. I liked some of the visual gags especially in the first half a lot (the popcorn eyes were so funny, we laughed our asses off in that scene), but once the story gets "serious" the movie becomes honestly a bit boring to me. I was also a bit sad that the other two members of the band were just side characters, thought they all three were main characters, but they quickly get sent to the sideline.
Yes, that was definitely an issue - Mira and Zoey basically never got more development than they did in Golden - “called a problem child/because I got too wild” and “lived two lives/tried to play both sides” respectively. I wonder if the original script had more but it got jettisoned to give us more Rumi and Jinu time.

I believe the movie was originally intended to be longer, and that's certainly felt here, and in the near-absence of Celine, who is presented as a major influence but barely gets any scenes.

? Four top ten songs. I don't understand your post.
Yes, in Spotify, a lot of stuff get viral and tops on internet without making a dent "in the real world". Real radio in my area is dominated by "Urban" music, Regueaton, and Regional songs. That and many stations are more into retro and nostalgic stuff or even very niche indie and "high brow" music. Hearing the song in the actual radio just made it more real. This thing can become a cultural milestone.

Number one album on billboard.....

I have said elsewhere I think the main problem with Golden is that parts of it just make no sense if you have not seen the movie. Like, they mention being a hunter in the song. If you have never seen the movie I cannot imagine how that would make any sense given what the rest of the song is about.
