So how many of you made the switch?

Did you make the switch to 3.5?

I just recently sold my 3.0 stuff at Half-Price, and bought 3.5 replacements. I already had the DMG and PH for 3.5. I just used the extra change (got a small fraction of the original $$$ spent) to pick up the MM 3.5.

I did it because I prefer the spell fixes, and class fixes in 3.5 compared to 3.0. I also liked the integration of most of the meat from the original class books into the PH. I was actually surprised that there does not seem to be an MM2 3.5 (good thing I didn't sell that off).

I sold the 3.0 books:
PH 3.0
DMG 3.0
MM 3.0
all the class books (Tome & Blood, Fist & Fury, etc)

I now have:
PH 3.5
DMG 3.5
MM 3.5
MM2 (apparently still 3.0)
MM3 (already 3.5)
Complete Adventurer

I don't plan on buying the newer class or race books until I play a PC that uses them. Saves money.

I have not seen fit to buy the DMG2 or PH2, not sure what I'll really get out of it.

I had just bought the 3.0 books when 3.5 was announced. I just couldn't see shelling out another large chunk of change to get a revised version of what I just purchased. I use the 3.0 books with the 3.5 SRD, and it's suited me just fine. I also do most of my gaming with PBEM, so the SRD is more useful than everyone having to bust out their books constantly.

I didn't bother to spend an extra $100 to pay for somebody else's house rules.

Instead, I created my own.

My players, when we were still in D&Dness, played edition 3.Wombat

Always have, always will

I bought the new stuff but strangely, not long after the new stuff came out my gaming group fell apart and I joined a different one playing a mishmashed 1e/2e

Converted to 3.5 almost immediately.

Better monster stat format (grapple as an entry, yay!).

Better monster creation rules (same feat progression for everybody yay!)

I like the 3.5 material DR rules.

Classes have a better progression of class abilities, fewer empty levels or too great in comparison 1 level dip options.

Better combat mechanic descriptions/explanations, clearer descriptions are better.

I prefer 3.5 psionics where attack and defense modes are just useful telepathic abilities that can be chosen instead of a whole subsystem.

Spell, monster size, and weapon size changes are mostly eh, though I'm glad haste is not an extra standard action anymore.

I have not gotten rid of my 3.0 DMG, MM, or psi handbook, or picked up 3.5 replacement books, I just use the 3.5 srd. I still use lots of 3.0, d20, and older edition stuff converting on the fly or as needed.

I switched to 3.5 from 2E. i started playing D&D again in 3.0 but a friend told me not to buy the books because new ones were coming out in six months, so I waited. I still use some 3.0 book however such as Savage Species.

To be fair, while I did make the switch almost immedietely, I still have yet to buy a 3.5 DMG or Monster Manual, instead simply using the SRD for those needs. :)

My gaming purchasing budget has slowed to a glacial pace over the past few years.

I don't really know how to vote.

Since 3.5 has been out, I've sworn off DMing 3e. I bought Mongoose's Pocket Players Handbook so that I can play in 3.5 games. (I didn't want to take the time & effort to edit/format/print the SRD.) But I've kept all my 3.0 books (except the splatbooks). The only 3.5 book that's really tempted me is the UA.

I guess that qualifies as having switched. (Tho' not so much "out with the old, in with the new.")
