So I'm Watching Ocean's Eleven...

I hope all these references to The Italian Job are to the Caine version...

If not, there's gonna have to be some stranglin' :)

I planned out a sci-fi hest campaing not so long ago. Never got around to playing it.

Just thought of another thing that might be important if I do decide to run this game: how many of the people interested in this kind of thing have Spycraft? I don't men to start recruiting yet, I'm not even sure if I'm going to run it, but Spycraft woul probably be my first choice for this kind of game. In particular, Since Dave-O suggested this, i would want to include him if I run it, so I need to know if Spycraft would work for him. Just to repeat, I'm not definately doing this, just doing some gauging of interest.

Yeah -- I've got Spycraft, and I loves it. :D

I was thinking about just how much magic would change the face of a heist. If you can just go ethereal and walk through walls, tight security will be quite different.

You forgot the best D&D-Movie ever.
D&D - The Movie.
It has anything you want
a princess in need
a dungeon
a villian
and dragons lots of dragons.

But, you know, it's the worst movie that I've ever had the misfortune to see.

What??? Nobody picked The Sword and the Sorceror? Oh yeah, I wouldn't play it, either.

Since they were made into movies, they both technically count here, but how in the world did Transformers and GI Joe never get done in RPG's? Transformers would, IMHO, probably have the funnest character creation EVAR!

Oceans 11 is indeed a rad movie. But you know what? I'm just happy someone outside of my little group still uses the word rad :) When my friends and I watched it we immediately wanted to play a party of thieves that broke into the hardest places.

And there is currently a rumor that WoTC is working on a D20 Modern treatment of G.I. Joe! The would be the coolest thing I think I've ever seen.

The Secret of NIMH - Your PC is either a small animal from the garden or one of the rats of NIMH. You spend your time trying to escape the clutches of NIMH , or trying to defeat the more "evil" rats of NIMH

The Dark Crystal would be pretty cool too.

I can't believe noone's mentioned the 13th Warrior yet.
Many people have noted its similarity to D&D adventures.

I personally have never seen a movie that made me try to stat out and recognize D&D mechanics than it.

I heartily second this one.

However, I've been thinking that the lack of magic would lead me to try a different system instead. Actually as weird as it would seem, I was thinking I could use Spycraft instead. The wound/vitality system would probably be better due to the lack of magical healing. Also the feat trees in the melee section of Spycraft can lead to some damn tough fighters.

Having become a Spycraft convert as of late, I'm game.

Well I'd like to see something on the lines of.
Stargate
Jurassic Park
Terminator
Jumanji
Freddy vs. Jason
I don't know about the rest but Stargate d20 is due out shortly if not this month. Sound real neat.

I am actualy thinking of getting my group to use it as a break in our regulary gaming. Or find a group to run it with. My wife is a big Stargate fan and owns all season CD box sets, and plans on buy the rest as they come out.

Just coincedantaly, I just ran across a reference to a new movie called "Ocean's Twelve" by the same producer as Oceans Eleven. The Producer for Oceans Eleven and Oceans Twelve is also slated to do the next Superman movie.
