My Wiz5/Rog2 is taking Wiz up to 7th (he wants an air mephit familiar) then one more lvl in Rog and he's qualified. Might be a bit late, but a familiar who fast heals just by fanning itself with its wings, flies perfectly, and has a breath weapon certainly doesn't suck.
You can also get that last skill point with a level of assassin (death attack, extra 1d6 sneak) or shadowdancer (hide in plain sight). And by taking one level of rogue and one level of assassin you can "get away with" loosing only two caster levels.Shard O'Glase said:...you only have to take 3 levels of rogue to get the exclusive skill up to 7 ranks by taking a level in loremaster prestige class, ...

This particular combo, however, requires the character be NE or CE (assassins must be evil, arcane tricksters must be non-lawful). And IMHO neither of those alignments is appropriate for most parties, or for PCs in most campaigns. The "used to be evil but is not anymore" doesn't work for me, becuase that's not being consistent in the character portrayal; it smacks heavily of munchkinism (I'll be temporarily evil to get this PrC, and then change back).

In skills it says that if you have a class wiht exclusive skills, then other classes can get it cross class, I believe, am I wrong?
