So sick of 2E fans bashing 3E

Ahh, the Brittany Spears argument.

It is popular therefore it must be good.
I thought the Spears argument was, "It is popular therefore it must be bad".

Both statements being equally ignorant, naturally.

If it make you feel any better, my entire gaming circle considered 2E to be so bad, we refused to buy a single rulebook for it.

As opposed to 2E, Rolemaster 2ed was infinitely preferable. We thought anyone who played 2E was an undiscriminating n00b. We pointed, smirked and *laughed* at them

3/3.5? We're back into the D&D fold and all enjoying it.

I started in the late 70's with original (Diaglo) D&D. To me, the 2E guys bashsing 3/3.5 aren't disciminating oldtimers who still follow the One True Religion - they are upsatart n00bs with no taste who play a broken system :).

I got to admit though, "3tard" is a nice jab...

Different strokes for different folks.

Every edition has people who hate every other edition, and some even quibble over -sub- editions.

None of them are right or wrong, just full of bile and in need of medication.

Getting emotional over a game is downright silly.

The most common opinion I've seen amoungst 2e players is that 3e has better mechanics, but 2e has better flavor and internal logic due to not being dungeon-oriented. I, personally, agree. But to each their own.

I have a source too. Mr. Flibble to be exact. And he is very cross.

Microsoft is working on Windows "Longhorn," you know -- lots of differences between that and the venerable old Windows 95.
I have 2 gigs of RAM on my work PC, Longhorn Alpha build I was playing with took it all.

Am I the only one who deals with this crap?

What a waste of time that argument was.... why don't I ever learn?
Be sad for this person if all they have going for them in this life is bashing a person (calling you a "3etard" crossed the line from setting to person) for an edition of DnD they play. How pathetic.

Yes. It is. I totally agree with you mister Greenwood. This is not the way somebody in my age group or in an older group should act.

I was actually referred to as a 3tard today by old-school D&D/Hackmaster fans.
Hey, that's kind of witty.
<--- For a limited time only: I am a 3tard!

[edit] More precisely, I'm a 3.5tard, but that's harder to say.
