Hey, raccoons need love, too!
We decided to adopt another rescue cat this holiday season. "Linus" is approximately 8 and had been brought in by animal control. My Significant Other has been wanting to "replace" her yellow Tabby she lost last year. He was still rail thin but that shouldn't last long in our household. 
He actually gets along with the dogs just fine but he's very aggressive towards our 8-year-old female Tabby, Peanut. Next step is to try "kitty prison" where he gets locked in the dog kennel while both are locked in the same room. Yesterday and last night were the first day of trying this so we'll see. He didn't use his litter bo0x at first, showing his displeasure. Here's hoping this works because both cats are very loving. The ironic thing is that he's actually taken straight to me where, working from home, she generally has the favor of the other animals.
