In reality having her in the group has caused no issues whatsoever, so I agree about not overthinking it based on my experience at least.
I've got to agree with Gnome. Having my wife in my group has never hurt in the least. She even prod's me to work on my campaign material so i'm ready for game night.
She's role-play oriented, but she loves the tactics and hack and slash involved with a good fight.
The only thing to remember is do not show favoritism, or too much unfavoritism!
