So the playtest packages coming online tonight at midnight or tomorrow?

Is this something I can download and then play with my group in my house? I saw the words "public playtest" and thought maybe I needed to go into my favorite local gaming store and somebody there will run the playtest? Is there a time limit - i.e., must play by May 25 or May 30 or whatnot?
It'll be a PDF for home use. It wouldn't surprise me if some stores set something up, but the PDF is what we're all waiting for.

Cheers!

Now, I just signed up for this playtest this week with very little knowledge about it.

Thanks (XP for the first person who can give me the right answer - If I'm able to XP them)

I think it is a basic rulebook with 5 pregenerated PCs (the argument for this was it would be easier to get and parse feedback if everyone was using the same 'baseline' of PCs - i.e. if healing for the cleric is completely borked it would be easier to spot if everyone was playing the same cleric). You shouldn't need to go to any store to pick this up and play - it will be sent out as a pdf afterall!

I haven't heard of any time limit on feedback but I would say the sooner the better.

Yikes, that's a strict time limit. Obviously they won't collect feedback forever, but I'm pretty sure you can send it to them until they tell us they're shipping the final game off to the printers.

Yes, no, and no in order.

Well, it isn't up. Which I totally expected. No sense leaving it up to an automated system to deploy the playtest. Better to have it come out when it can be monitored closely, rather than leave it open to the possibility of problems that can't be fixed for twelve hours.

So before people start whining and claiming WotC lied, here is a nice tall glass of CHILL OUT juice. No one lied. They said on 5/24, not Midnight of 5/24. Check back around noon.

Admin here. While I appreciate the sentiment, we'd appreciate it if you scale back on the disguised language. No need to be rude. - Piratecat

Contrary to popular opinion, stating the obvious is not a valid excuse for sounding like an Ahem. Don't use profanity. Don't insult people. If there's a problem, report the post. - PCat
