Ahh...Christmas Gifts!
My husband Xaltar and I exchanged gifts with our gaming buddies on Saturday and received...

LOTR: FotR Collector's DVD Giftset (from Dartan)

LOTR: TTT Legolas Collector's Edition Action Figure with Authentically Styled Fabric Outfit and Accessories (From Doc Midnight)

D20 dice sets & Book of Vile Darkness (from Wee Jas)

Today, from family members, we received...

The Book of Taverns, Backdrops, Guildcraft, and Campaign Ready NPCs

The Origins graphic novel

A Wonder Woman action figure (from France)

along with other comic/sci-fi related stuff like Storm action figures and underground Star Wars films.

Xaltar also bought me the collector's edition LOTR: FotR soundtrack, and I bought him some Hero Clix, a D&D mini and some dice.

Besides that, we treated ourselves to minis and D20 sourcebooks (Common Ground 1 & 2, The Sword of Justice & All The Kings Men modules)

All & all, we have some great loot!! Santa was generous to us this year!! Hope your Christmas stockings were overflowing with gaming goodness as well!! :D

My last post, in which I said I was getting nothing, was somewhat pessimistic. It also turned out, happily, that it was slightly premature.

I bought myself some books in english from the college bookstore, picking up Spider-Man: The Movie: The Novel, The Mothman Prophecies, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (I figured it was time I took the plunge on that one).

I also found out that I got straight A's on all of my classes last term. I've never gotten straight A's in my life.

I got a call from my mother and younger brother back in America, which was a treat unto itself, and they said they were putting together a package to mail me, which would have all my magazines (such as Dragon and Dungeon) that I've missed so far. I'll get it a day or two after New Years.

I also got an email from my Dad, whom I didn't think I was on speaking terms with, asking for my address so he could send me something, and wishing me a Merry Christmas.

Christmas miracles really do happen...

...even if you're Jewish. :D

I really liked rhapsody.

Same here Darrin. I have both series. Rhapsody was great and I love Tad Williams. I also got the first three books in the Fortress series by CJ Cherryh. (Fortress in the Eye of Time, Fortress of Eagles, and Fortress of Owls).

As for what the Sage got, besides those books, Dragonsbane (I've already read it but never actually owned it.) RPG related: (only one folks!) Oathbound, plenty of shirts, a Spiderman DVD (not the actual Tobey Maguire one), and plenty of clothes and various sundry of items. I did well. But I measure my Christmas by the time spent with folks and people letting me sing my favorite carols. (Which I have to thank King's Chapel in England for inspiration, as well as their bidding prayer.)

I got cane with a ruby-eyed cobra head for a handle.

But wait, that's not all...Surprise! it's a freakin' SWORD CANE!!!

My girlfriend rocks and rocks and keeps on rockin'!!!!

From friends:
FOTR Extended
2 kung fu movies: legend of the 8 samurai and shaolin chastity kung fu (one of my friends always gets me kung fu movies)

My girlfriend got me an advent wreath, which is sweet for a catholic theology major like myself. She and her mom made it.
Her sister got me the Spiderman DVD.
Her parents got me a crock pot and a toaster (really nice gifts for a guy that has yet to live a full year in an apartment on his own).

My brother got me the Dune miniseries on DVD. I haven't seen it yet. We'll find out if it's good soon enough (4 weeks b/f school starts = lots of video game, movie, and book time).

My sister got me a bigger binder for my cd's, which were overflowing out of the old one i had from high school, which was also falling apart.

My parents got me a sweater, a shirt, some Druids movie starring Christopher Lambert, a nice watch (which is good, b/c I have a ratty looking one that I love but doesn't go well with the suits and such that I wear when I occasionally work at the Dallas Fed), and a check for a cool grand, which will go towards an iBook shortly (I'm jumping off the Microsoft train before it crashes).

All that, and I've still got two more Christmas's to go at my grandparents' houses this weekend, and if all goes well I'll go meet my girlfriend's family for a crawfish boil (we're both cajun) on Friday. No better way to celebrate the holidays than with a crawfish boil...

Wife got me a paint carasel for my miniture paints and the new Bond DVD set. Kids got me a pale yellow sweater....somehow I see that one as not being worn in public.....

Ah Oathbound... I've been pretty heavily involved with that campaign world this year. Something I wrote (actually I'm not exactly certain what though) made it into the adventure in the hardback Oathbound book. I wrote the adventure for Plains of Penance, which will see print in February, and then there's still an unnamed project I can't talk about that will see print sometime next year.

By the way, in case there are any freelancers reading this, I can't say enough good things about Bastion Press. They are a wonderful group of people to work with, they give you a lot of room to make a project your own, and... well to be blunt, they get their developers paid. Did I mention the overall quality of their product and the art? Ooh yeah, the art!

12 guage pump action shotgun
LOTR:FOTR 4 disc
Western boots
Grinch necktie
Bar set with shaker.

I can't wait to perforate some things with that gun!
The whole family sat down to watch LOTR, even my sister in law. So cool!
