So, what do you want to play?

I'm trying to stay true to my eladrin wizard, but every time they release a bit of info on classes, I change my mind...

weapon choices that matter? -> I wanna play a fighter!
different types of pacts? -> I wanna play a warlock!
more smites per day? -> I wanna play a paladin!
movement powers? -> I wanna play a rogue!
:p

anyway, I'll probably try to stat a blond, skanky, young female warlock with fairy wings named "Barbie, the Fabulous Fairy", who summons butterflies, doves and puppies for allies and shoots magical rainbows from the tip of her magic wand... just to prove warlocks are not all evil (but still very scary...) ;)

All right.

Drow Wizard (Serpent Eye)/Warlock of Cthulhu/Necromancer (when it come out) Lord Razravkar Istari, master of black magic. My poor attempt to make up for the destruction of the generalist wizard, but focusing on darker stuff. Somewhat like Elric meets Harry Dresden meets H.P. Lovecraft.

...What?

I'd say Star pact Warlock, but sadly without Wish and Gate to help my unspeakable masters come down to the game world, a good portion of the fun is lost.
That happens at the end of level 30. ;) Destiny!!!

Edit: Anyway, I think my first character will be a multiclass character because I really want to see how it works in play in the new edition. Preferably three or more classes, and make it work.

I tend towards multiclass myself, and will probably run a human Warlock/Monk. Never needs weapons, can punch or eldritch blast all day, plus other nifty little bits. Depends on the flavor of everything exactly how he would come out.

I want to see how far I can push Jack of All Trades thing. I like the idea of a Fifth character that can sub in at least a little for everyone. One of my first ideas was a city born street-tough who was converted to an acolyte of the god of magic (a Fighter/Rogue/Cleric/Wizard. ;)). The system may not like that much, though. We'll see.

Fighter/Warlord with flail and shield, hobgoblin if they are in tne MM

or maybe fighter or warlord mixed with warlock, Witch King style

given that i don't fully know/understand the scope of the class flavors (esp the new classes like warlord, etc) my list is going based soley off what i know of the basic types. the classes i'm most interested in playing (in order of interest level)

1) Druid
2) Cleric
3) Wizard
4) Fighter

But eventually hope to get around to playing them all or multiclassing etc.
:)

Too many choices . . .

Probably start out w/ a Dragonborn Fighter or Halfling Paladin - I'm really excited about Warlord, but I suspect they're not going to be as good in melee as Defenders, so I'll probably go with a defender.

After that, one of the strikers, if they're as good as they sound - a dwarf warlock, a tiefling rogue, a tiefling ranger.

I want to try out a Warlord at some point, as well as see how well the multi-class rules work - I definitely want to try out a Gish of some sort, and see if they're actually effective or not.
