So what spirit aspect would you take on?

Darmanicus

I'm Ray...of Enfeeblement
Ok folks me mate is running a DC Heroes game fer us, we haven't got a clues about the rules however, like a Big Mac.........we're 'luvin' it'!

Point is that tonight after walking into some freaky dimension thing and walkin' up a road with robed figures on either side spouting 'spirit of the spoon' and 'spirit of the hamster' as we pass, we get to a palace thingy and upon enetering we find out that we can each choose a spirit to represent us and infuse us with its power, thus turning us into 'superheroes'.

So what would you recommend?

Players as follows......

1. Morrus - the 'beat cop', likes superman and batman. It's funny coz in real life he wears his pants outside his trousers and we all wish he'd wear a mask!

2. Dave aka Dpulse303 - the 'forensic, (think Male Dana Scully with uber SMG fetish), investigator. He's thinking along the terms of something metal and magnetic possibly.

3. Doug, (he don't post yet but we're workin' on it), - the 'mad scientist'. In reality he is really mad and has been making good use of these 'AP X' gadgets he started with....lots of fun. He's thinking possibly 'spirit of knowledge'.

4. Me aka Darmanicus - the 'swat guy'. I like showing off with me character however I really haven't got a clue what I'd like to 'become', (fave characters being Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Deaths Head 2 and Colonel Liger from Warheads......the last 2 being from the awesome comic that was Overkill.........and I nearly forgot the Missionary Man - Balthazar Krull IIRC from another awesome relic that was Toxic).

5. Al ak Inconsequenti-Al - the 'possibly going to join in a some point in hopefully the near future'. Haven't got a clue what he might wanna play but it's probably gonna irritate the cr@p outta me, (luvs ya really mate  ).

So whether or not you know anything about the system, what spirit ideas do you have and the powers thta might be related to them.

Gotta go ta bed in a sec however so will probably post back tomorrow from work.

Heh. I've got something that will irritate the hell out of you. Nick put together a pre-gen character just for me... but I'd hate to spoil the suprise. :]

Unfortunately, it's looking like I've got a heck of a lot on my plate at the moment... Another RPG session would likely finish me off.

If it's down to the first 2 you offered, it's defintiely spirit of the spoon - surely you must have seen The Tick sometime?

Anyway, can you pick any spirit you like?

If your really stuck for something, then an element is a good starting point - gives you a decent schtick to hang your powers off. They're all good - although water is a bit wussy if you ask me?

Other ideas:

Conflict - get a skull T-Shirt. Call yourself 'The Gunisher'. Shoot people. A lot. - fits with the SWAT thing. (Although it's more likely SWANT - 'Special Weapons And NO Tactics' :D )

Death - nuff said!

Heroism - although you might have had a belly full of this from playing a Paladin.

The City - idea someone used in a game I played in. Was a strange one, but had a kind of link to cities. Could exercise limited control over stuff in them, knew where things were and found it easy to hide and move around. Interesting set of powers.

Cheers mate, the city one sounds quite cool, kinda reminds of the Glass Walker tribe of Garou from Werewolf the Apocalypse.

I'm the GM in this game. Just to explain to a few of those of you what Darmanicus is on about...

It's a superhero game. They've been putting up with playing kill-crazy cops (the kill-crazy reflects more on the challenges of the game and their roleplaying than anything else...)

I'd announced some time ago that they were going to get superpowers at some stage, and this is how. They're in some extra-dimensional place where they get to pick a Spirit.

Each Spirit is a concept. If Darmanicus was to pick the Spirit of Fire, he'd probably end up as something like the Human Torch. The Spirit of Sight and he'd get a lot of sight themed powers. The Spirit of the Badger would end up giving him the ability to turn into a badger. And probably digging powers. Also a new hairdo.

Death, Time, Magic, Mind, Dragons, Good, Evil and a few others weren't available. Any other concept you can think of is available.

Morrus has suggested either 'Human Achievement' or 'Heroism' as his possible concepts. Obviously giving him Batman or Superman-esque powers.

Darmanicus has rather terrifyingly suggested 'The Spirit of Chaos'. I don't like to tell you how confusing *that* could get...

Hey Eccs, meesa forgots yer email, give me a shout on darmanicus@btinternet.com would ya.

That DC heroes builder thing is confusing. Did you say we get 900 pts to create a character or 900 - the 350 we already cost. If it is just the extra 550 then it's gonna be hard to create coz you've got our character sheets.
