I used a d3 from a board game called Exit for years, until I finally found them for sale at GenCon (I'm sure they were available elsewhere, but that was where I saw them first). I think it was at the Armory booth, and they were reasonably priced.

I still have my old Exit die, too. :)

you have 'a seed' (banana, lemon, whatever )shaped die with five sides, tapering out to points on either end.
Someone patented a similar idea for a d3 with eye-shaped faces. It never went into production AFAIK.

The d3 in my dice bag is a wooden d6 numbered 1-3 twice (I got it from an old E.T. boardgame). I'm surprised how much I've used in games.
